I am very pleased with this paracord. I received a continuous strand of 100 ft. Titan continues to improve product and it just keeps getting better.

One thing I like about this cord is they replaced the snare wire with the Kevlar thread. It makes the cord more flexible and it’s a little easier to use. And you can use the Kevlar thread anywhere you could’ve used the wire.

This really is top-of-the-line stuff. If you just use it as Paracord you get a higher quality product and if you get into a situation where you get in trouble you have all these extras that can really help you out. You can build traps you can start fires you can go fishing you can even use it for emergency medical intervention.

It’s a little more challenging to melt and seal the ends of the paracord that have a fire starting thread in the middle because that one wants to combust while you’re melting the other threads. This is the same for all of the survivor cord, not this particular brand so just making you aware that when you’re ready to seal off in the end, you might want to clip the waxed tinder a little closer so it doesn’t burn.

The Kevlar thread or whatever the yellow thing is is very strong. It alone was able to hold over 300 pounds up without breaking and that was pretty impressive for something that thin. You could use it for snares, fishing line or to wrap an arrowhead onto a shaft. Even though it also contains a fishing line, I would probably use the Kevlar one to sew because of its strength. The only thing I can think of using the fishing thread off the top of my head is for his emergency sutures. But I’m sure the uses are limited only by one’s imagination.

The waxed thread will burn and it is very easily combustible. Makes an excellent fire starter. And you can use it for a improvise candlewick. Don’t underestimate the usefulness of candles in the outdoors. This makes a fine little wick if you drop it in a small cup or a depression filled with alcohol.

This paracord is rated for 1000 lbs and I believe it. It seems very sturdy what is made of 100% nylon except for the specialized threads.

The only problem with this is now I’ve got to remake all of mine stuff. I have several dozen bracelets and lanyards, I have premade roof lines and hitches for quick deployment of tarps and shelters. And I have several little extra bits left over that I used to practice knots. Now I have to remake all of these with the upgraded cord.

I’ve always believed that lanyards are incredibly useful and so this cord has allowed me to tie a lanyard to pretty much everything I own that goes into the bush. It’s also handy to wrap around your sheaths and other tools, so you have lengths of cord handy and ready to use and also protect your equipment.

I use regular paracord around the house but for anything that’s going to go in the woods with me I always use the survivor cord for extra utility. I may never end up using the interior threads but it’s nice to know that they are there. And now because I have so much extra of the stuff I can use it in places where I might not because it was less available.

It’s really handy to have a lot of the stuff laying around. You never know when you’re going to need to tie something up or tie it down.

Style: Black (100 FT HANK)Vine Customer Review of Free Product( What's this? )
Gotta love this American Made product. Super strong with a tensile strength of over 1000lbs., now I don't have any way to accurately test that, but I gotta say I believe them, this stuff is strong! It's great as just regular old para cord but it's real value is in its inner survival threads. I took apart a small section of the line to do a little testing and this is what I found: My picture which is taken against a role of Christmas wrapping paper (for contrast) shows the Kevlar thread. I tried pulling it apart using two vice grips locked onto the thread nose to nose and then wedging the vice grips against each other, but the line would not break, it eventually just started pulling through the jaws no matter how tight I had them locked down. The next picture against a white background shows the waterproof tinder thread. I just used a butane lighter giving it a quick hit on the flame and it lit right off and started burning down the thread like a fast burning candle wick. And the last picture shows the 25lb. fishing line which I found very interesting. The information on the amazon webpage about the cord states: "This filament can also be melted and used to patch holes or used to bind tools together." So I did a couple of experiments. First I tried to melt it to a metal fingernail clipper, but it didn't hold. I don't know if that was because the surface was a very smooth chrome or maybe there was a little bit of skin oil on the clippers from my fingers, so then I tried a wooden clothes pin and that worked like a champ. It held very well to the rough wooden surface and the melted drop never broke free when I pulled the remaining embedded line so I do think this would do well with binding/securing tools together and probably with patching holes.

Overall, I give this 100ft length of Titan Survival, SurvivorCord XT a solid 5 stars. Even though it is roughly four times as expensive as regular run of the mill paracord, considering its very unique additional survival properties, I believe it's worth the extra cost. You can always purchase the cheap stuff for your general duty lashing cord, but you're definitely going to want to have at least a couple hundred feet of this stuff around in your gear.
