HOUSTON, Texas (KTRK) -- Enjoy the pleasant temperatures in the morning because it's going to feel like summer again by the afternoon!
Friday morning will start off with temperatures below the seasonal average of 72. In fact, many communities outside of Houston will dip down into the mid 60s, especially north of I-10. It will be a bright and sunny day with high temperatures soaring into the mid 90s, well above the average high of 91.
Summery, that's for sure! High temperatures each day this weekend will be in the mid 90s under a partly cloudy sky. Morning lows will even be in the mid 70s, which is more typical for July and August. You won't have to worry about any serious rain chances for the two big games in Houston on Saturday and Sunday. Just remember, if you're tailgating stay hydrated and protect yourself from the sun.
Yep. High temperatures should remain at or above 90 degrees for the next 10 days. Thankfully, we don't foresee any 100-degree days, but the combination of heat and humidity could put the heat index into the triple digits.
There are a few tropical waves we are monitoring in the Atlantic, none of which are expected to threaten the Gulf. Head to our daily Tropical Update page for the latest on what's happening in the tropics.
