Job description

We are…

A leading digital sports media group with a large global presence. Our Better Collective brands, including The Nation Network, La Poche Bleue, Action Network, and Playmaker, attract over 400 million monthly visits. At Better Collective, we believe in the power of sports to unite and inspire people. With our innovative approach and fan-first mentality, we're redefining how sports content is consumed and shared.

Like all winning teams, we value respect, creativity, and fun. We operate in a dynamic environment where collaboration drives ideation and where you will help shape the ever-growing sports media landscape as we know it. Here at Better Collective, we provide an opportunity for your voice to be heard and create a space where you can have fun in the process. We’re not just about work, rather we look to build a community that celebrates victories, learns from hardships, and grows as one. Whether a sports fan or just curious, Better Collective is the place where your talent can shine while you make a real impact along the way.

You are…

A creative and detail-driven content writer with a good understanding of on-page SEO strategies and best practices. You know how to craft engaging and informative long-form content written for real people and for search engines. You’re a self-starter that can work well independently, you’re highly receptive to feedback, and you’re motivated to produce high-quality work that ranks.

This role will be primarily responsible for researching, drafting, writing, and maintaining existing articles about sports betting, sportsbooks, online casinos, and educational resource pages. Prior sports or sport betting knowledge is not necessary, but a keen motivation to learn is. You will report to the SEO Performance Manager, Canada, and work alongside editors and analysts to help build and scale some of the top sports media brands in Canada.

This is an incredible opportunity to join a highly motivated team poised for success, and one that prides itself on great culture and a positive work environment. If you’re looking for an opportunity to help shape and grow a company within an exciting and rapid growth industry, we encourage you to apply!

You will…

  • Based on short briefs, you will research, draft, and write 2,000 to 6,000 word SEO-optimised evergreen content pages that are factually accurate, informative, engaging, and free of grammatical errors.

  • Conduct comprehensive research on online gaming products, such as sportsbook and online casino apps.

  • Update evergreen pages using competitive SEO analysis to maintain SERP rankings.

  • Implement feedback and suggestions from our editorial team.

  • Write and edit meta titles and descriptions for evergreen content pages.

  • Balance and prioritise a variety of tasks at once for multiple brands.

  • Use WordPress plugins to create, edit and manage on-page elements such as tables, images/graphics, and other dynamic content.

  • Communicate with colleagues throughout the workday using Slack, email, and video calls.

  • Contribute new ways to drive users to sportsbooks through content ideas and improvements.
