Mission

In alignment with the American Society for Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery (ASMBS) mission to
elevate global health and quality of life by significantly reducing the impact of obesity and its related illnesses,
the Program Committee is tasked with developing and organizing all annual educational events for the
ASMBS, including the ASMBS Annual Meeting and ASMBS Weekend. The committee identifies professional
education needs, reviews abstract submissions, selects topics and speakers, and contributes to the overall
conference programming to enhance the educational experience for ASMBS members.

Description

The Program Committee plays a pivotal role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality educational
content that addresses the evolving needs of ASMBS members. By identifying gaps in knowledge, securing
expert speakers, and implementing innovative educational formats, the committee aims to enhance member
satisfaction and promote professional development in metabolic and bariatric surgery.

Objectives


● Enhance the value and quality of educational programming for ASMBS members.

● Increase member attendance by 5% at educational events.
Rationale: This objective demonstrates the perceived value and relevance of the programming, while
