The primary function of this role will be to ensure that the Player Cost calculation is in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (“CBA”). The role will require coordination with various business managers within the League and Member Clubs. There will be a heavy focus on analytical skills in addition to an understanding of general accounting.

Overview /Objective:

The primary function of this role will be to ensure that the Player Cost calculation is in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement (“CBA”). The role will require coordination with various business managers within the League and Member Clubs. There will be a heavy focus on analytical skills in addition to an understanding of general accounting. 

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate, analyze and report the financial performance of National and Club revenue used to calculate Player Costs.
  • Support the projection and conversion of National projections from GAAP revenue to All Revenue (“AR”), which is the basis for Player Costs. Analyze GL details, journal entries, and line of business reports to ensure AR is in accordance with CBA guidelines. 
  • Perform detailed trend analysis, identifying key variances that may impact the long-range projection of revenues. 
  • Assist with the compilation of Agreed Upon Workpapers for the Salary Cap Audit, which involves reconciliation of audited financial statements and detailed testing of journal entries and line of business reports. 
  • Assist with analysis of contracts to ensure amounts are in accordance with the CBA and how revenue will impact long-term League economics. 
  • Assist in the data collection, analysis, and preparation of presentations to address key revenue streams and business issues facing the 32 Clubs.
  • Work as an audit liaison for the League and 32 Clubs and the Salary Cap independent auditors and the NFLPA auditors
  • Provide support for the CBA treatment of new stadium investments and major renovations.  Compile the project costs and financing structures for each project and create summary reports for management. 
  • Maintain financial database and create trend reports used by senior management to project league wide financials 

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
  • Strong skills in Excel and Power point

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Minimum 3 years of work experience relating to audit, budgeting, forecasting, and analytics
  • CPA preferred but not required 
  • Experience creating and editing financial models 
  • Experience working with database technology

  • 10-15% per year depending on Club Audit schedule

Salary
$70,000$85,000 USD
