Whenever something is challenging and we want it we try to find any way possible to make it just a bit easier and a bit more attainable. Well warmed up hamstrings, strong glutes and highly coordinated adductors will absolutely help you! Middle split just like most other high level flexibility skills depend on coordination. You have to relax the right muscles for the legs to be able to open up whilst other parts of your legs and hips have to engage to make sure you stay well aligned and to protect your knees from injuries.
