I have been having so much fun dressing up these artist's mannequins. I loved the idea of creating a ballerina. I used polymer clay for her hair and ribbon for her bodice and tutu. I painted her shoes, added pearl beads to the bodice and a braided hairpiece to complete her. This was a fun one to make. I call her my Forest Mannequin. I'd had this artists mannequin forever and knew I wanted to do something with it, but quite what I didn't know, then I saw an article in the November/December issue of Sommerset Studio by Christine Crocker I was inspired... Having no antique doll to hand But having drawers full of old lace out came the mannequin. I think she turned out OK. She needs more bits adding to her hooped skirt but I'm sure that wll be remedied with time!
