Tikal Ruins - Commissioned Work, Carolyn Fisk

This piece was commissioned by https://brad-p.deviantart.com/ . I was asked to recreate the Jaguar Temple from the Mayan city of Tikal. The client wanted the structures to look like they had recently been abandoned but had a fair amount of plant coverage to give it a "lost temple" feel. I really got into the research at the beginning of the project, but it was still fairly difficult to find definitive reference or designs for the structures.
