I've had this song (and the image) in my mind for a long time. It feels a bit hopeful to me, it feels like making it over a struggle and arriving safely on the other side.

Bridge over troubled water

Our church in Hawaii had interesting music. The organist had graduated from a prestigious music school. He always played beautiful classical pieces for the postlude and prelude. We sang hymns in English, but also one hymn each week in Hawaiian. And there was a talented duo that would play and sing at the offering- slack key guitar. They usually chose a secular song that could have a spiritual meaning to it if you thought about it. This was one they sometimes did.
