When I read about other widows or widowers who lived with their spouses for decades, before they died, I feel sad for them. I wish I'd met you sooner, before they broke your heart and made you hard. Before they had a chance to build your walls so high that you won't let me in for fear that I too will some day leave. Yes!! My Husband, daughter and I just had this conversation! We wish we would have met sooner and had babies together because we know we could have given them a happy, stable, traditional home...(but, only if I could have my same two babies lol) We would have been able to celebrate 60+ years of marriage instead of 30+. At least we met when we did and I love, love how wonderfully we all fit together! My kids LOVE and respect their stepdad and share close bonds!
