Its source lies within the Andes Mountains, and it eventually converges with the Atlantic Ocean. Encompassing a colossal basin spanning nine countries, this remarkable region houses an incredible array of plant and animal species, with a significant portion of them being exclusive to this unique ecosystem.

The Amazon Rainforest is the largest tropical rainforest in the world. It is about 5.5 million square kilometres bigger than its African counterpart.
