Chiron is a famous figure from Greek mythology, for Chiron was a centaur. Chiron was famous for being trainer and tutor to many notable figures, including Jason and Achilles.

Centaurs are creatures described as half man and half horse, although in modern times many depictions of Centaurs have become romanticized and even viewed as heroic. The centaurs were usually said to have been born of Ixion and Nephele. As the story goes, Nephele was a cloud made into the likeness of Hera in a plot to trick Ixion into revealing his lust for Hera to Zeus. In Greek mythology Chariclo was a nymph of Mount Pelion in Magnesia (northern Greece) who was the wife of wise centaur Chiron. She was the foster-mother of many of the great heroes of myth including Peleus, Achilles, Aristaeus and Asclepius.

Centaurs were highly intelligent, loyal and honourable creatures that existed in World of Narnia. They appeared human from the abdomen up to the head, while the rest of their body was that of a horse. The horse part of them was described as resembling that of a huge English farm horse, and the human part like stern but beautiful giants.
