Few animals are confused more often than crocodiles and alligators. Sometimes it seems that there is no difference between them at all and that they are just the same reptiles. But this isn’t true. There are indeed a few differences between crocodiles and alligators.

Nile crocodile (Crocodylus niloticus) is an African crocodile and the second largest extant reptile in the world, after the saltwater crocodile. The Nile crocodile is quite widespread throughout Sub-Saharan Africa, occurring mostly in the central, eastern, and southern regions of the continent and lives in different types of aquatic environments such as lakes, rivers and marshlands.
