Tony Xia Chuan on Instagram: "A 3 Day Adventure around Sakurajima
This was my first time exploring the area around Sakurajima, and it was made possible by the comfort and convenience of staying at Fairfield and its various locations. If you love marine activities, beaches, rivers, hiking, volcanoes, or mountains, this is the place to be.

Perks of staying at Fairfield by Marriott Kagoshima Sakurajima:
- Excellent location next to Michi-no-Eki or Roadside Stations with parking, restaurants, souvenir shops, activities, and more
- Delicious breakfast box made with locally sourced ingredients (reserve 3-5 days in advance)
- Stamp rally at all Fairfield hotels, offering mementos and completion perks
- Marketplace for grab-and-go options featuring local snacks, food, and drinks

The sweet red bean and pancake combination was simple but nostalgic I couldn’t stop eating🤤 ⁡ You can’t find these kinds of food in Tokyo, so I definitely recommend trying them in Aichi! ⁡ Highly recommended! ⁡

Unknown Japan | Slow trips by Minami Kristina on Instagram: "Location, access, 日本語👇 Near the southern shore of Lake Tazawa, you can find this old school established in 1882. The school building, which closed in 1974, was opened to the public in 2004. It consists of two classrooms, a staff room, and a gymnasium that doubles as an auditorium. Discover someone’s forgotten treasures in the drawers and find old musical instruments that once echoed with joy. It is sure to evoke nostalgic childhood memories, even if you never went to school in Japan! 📍 Kata Branch School of Memories, Tazawako, Akita Prefecture:思い出の潟分校、田沢湖、秋田県 🚊 Access from Tokyo: Take the JR East Akita Shinkansen to Tazawako Station, then take the Ugokotsu Tazawako Round Bus for 20 minutes, get off at Ueda Konoki, and walk

Ana 杏奈 | Japan | Travel on Instagram: "If you love Studio Ghibli, don’t skip this place 🥹 🏮As two Ghibli lovers, @umii_jp and I were super happy to stumble upon this place during our adventures. We didn’t know about this place and weren’t planning to visit it, but when we saw the Ghibli-like atmosphere of this building from a bus, we decided to come back and check it out. 🏨The name of this building is Tokaikan 東海館, located in the lovely onsen town Ito, Shizuoka Prefecture. Tokaikan is a former ryokan built in 1928. It operated as a ryokan until 1997 and reopened in 2001 as a historical and cultural sightseeing spot. It is not a ryokan anymore, however, its interiors can be visited for a small fee, they also have a cafe area and their renowned hot springs that can be used for another f

Lesser-known Japan and slow living in Tokyo 🌿 on Instagram: "📍Jindaiji Temple (深大寺), the second oldest temple in Tokyo, and the area around it showcase glimpses of traditional Japan. Though I didn’t have time to explore it for more than a couple of hours, without a doubt, you can spend the whole day in the area! Try soba noodles at one of the many local shops along the traditional street, pray at the temple, buy or even make your own pottery, and enjoy the hot spring (♨️Onsen Yumori no Sato). If you are in the area, I also recommend visiting 📍Jindai Botanical Garden/神代植物公園 that is next to the Jindaiji temple (I’ll post about it later). 🚌Access: get on the bus from Chofu, Tsusujigaoka, Mitaka, and Kichijoji train stations. Better check Google Maps before to see which bus suits you t

SAM & THOMAS | TRAVEL COUPLE | PHOTOGRAPHERS on Instagram: "Why is no one talking about this place in Japan? 🤯 In between our journey from Fuji to Osaka we visited the ancient villages of Magomejuku & Tsumagojuku. The Nakasendo trail in between is a gorgeous hike of about 7,5 km where you will cross waterfalls, beautiful view points, rivers, a local tea house and much more. The villages make you feel like stepping back in time. The area is super beautiful to visit all year round so definitely put it on your list! 🧡 We stayed in Nakatsugawa, which is a big bigger village next door. Busses go up to the start of the trail multiple times a day. The journey from Tokyo takes about 4 hours in total and easily reachable by Shinkansen trains to Nagoya or with local trains from Mount Fuji (Fuj

Tokyo Weekender on Instagram: "Visiting Totsukawa Village, in Nara Prefecture, is like stepping into another realm. With lush, verdant mountains and a bright, turquoise river that winds into the heart of the village, it offers miles of untouched nature. It also has a unique culture, with deep ties to tradition and a strong connection to the land. The residents of Totsukawa Village are also known for being incredibly friendly to travelers. While a trip here will certainly be an adventure, it’s by no means a rugged one. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to see a side of Japan that most people never get to experience, to luxuriate in extraordinary and peaceful surroundings at your own pace. Since public transportation to the area is infrequent, it’s best to rent a car. Alternatively, you can
