Player of the Year/Pitcher of the Year, C.J. Hurley, Amherst, 12: Hurley is the All-WNY large schools Pitcher and Player of the Year, and the latest recipient of the Colpoys-Barrows Cup. In 58.1 innings pitched, Hurley recorded 88 strikeouts and had a 0.48 ERA, holding opponents to a .110 batting average. As a hitter, he batted .494 with 38 hits, 32 RBIs, 28 runs and three home runs. His favorite game from the season was pitching 10 1/3 innings in the Far West Regional. Hurley will continue his career at Niagara.

Reed Lesmeister, Kenmore West, catcher, 12: Led Kenmore West to a 9-10 record and to the Section VI Class AA quarterfinals. Lesmeister also is on the football team. He will continue his baseball career at Hilbert.

Trevor Meidenbauer, Niagara Falls, pitcher, 11: Meidenbauer had a .404 batting average, 19 hits, 17 RBIs, 16 walks and 13 runs and led Niagara Falls to the Section VI Class AAA final. He was named the Niagara Frontier League Player of the Year and is appreciative to help the team achieve the single-season home run record by hitting three. Meidenbauer’s goal is to win a sectional championship in his senior season.

Bryce Cureo, St. Joeseph’s Collegiate Institute, pitcher, 10: With eight appearances on the mound, Cureo pitched 42.2 innings with 70 strikeouts and a 0.66 ERA. He was named the All-Catholic Pitcher of the Year. Cureo had the best batting average on the team at .375. He led the Marauders to the Catholic state semifinal.

Matt Kasprowicz, Williamsville North, pitcher, 12: In seven appearances, Kasprowicz had a 0.34 ERA in 41 innings, recording 51 strikeouts. In the box, he picked up 11 hits and seven RBIs. He led the Spartans to the Section VI Class AA title game and was named the ECIC I Pitcher of the Year. Kasprowicz also is a member of the hockey team.

Tyler Pagano, Depew, infield, 12: Named an ECIC IV Co-Player of the Year, Pagano had a 0.41 ERA on the mound and collected 28 runs, 16 hits and seven RBIs as a hitter. He mastered the ability to steal bases, collecting 28. Pagano helped Depew win the 2023 New York State Public High School Athletic Association Class B state championship.

Littere’s favorite moment from the season was hitting a go-ahead two-run single in game one of the Section VI Class AAA final against Lancaster.

James Rindfleisch, Maryvale, outfield, 12: Had a .377 batting average, 26 hits and 17 RBIs. Rindfleisch also served as a pitcher with a 1.37 ERA and 72 strikeouts. He holds the program’s single-season record in stolen bases with 19, which he set in 2023. The ECIC III Player of the Year led Maryvale to a Section VI Class A2 title and will continue his career at Niagara County Community College.

Aaron Jones, Canisius, outfield, 12: The All-Catholic Player of the Year, Jones finished with a .361 batting average on 26 hits in 72 at-bats. He registered 26 hits, 20 runs and 17 RBIs. Jones led Canisius to the Monsignor Martin final. He will continue his career at Westminster College, majoring in sports management.

In the box, he had 28 hits, 23 RBIs, eight doubles, two home runs and batted .373. Munzert was an ECIC II first-team selection and was named the ECIC II Defensive Player of the Year.
