Early morning break-ins of cars on the Fourth of July resulted in the arrest of three teenagers in Orchard Park.
Orchard Park police responded to a complaint at 12:13 a.m. Thursday on Hidden Oak Court of youths breaking in and stealing from vehicles. When officers arrived, they saw youths running into wooded backyards, police said.
Police ran after the teenagers, and other patrols set up a perimeter and searched the area.
At the same time other officers responded to another report of youths stealing from vehicles on Ellicott Road. Police obtained video of the teenagers. They found a 14-year-old and a 16-year-old hiding behind trees and arrested them.
An hour later, at 1:14 a.m., police responded to a Breezewood Drive address after a report of an unknown person at the front door. Officers spoke with a 16-year-old, determined he was the youth who originally fled from police, and arrested him.
