Our Inn and our mission flourish because of the energy and care of people near and far. We are honoured to share that Fogo Island Inn is one of the two Canadian hotels that received the Three Key recognition from The MICHELIN Guide. Our work on Fogo Island involves many: those from our community on the island and those from away. We cannot thank our team enough, as they go above and beyond every day, making every guest feel at ease, completely comfortable and cared for. 📸 Destination Canada

A trip to Little Fogo Islands is a chance to get to know our local wildlife, nature, architecture, and fishing heritage. While you won't necessarily see all these highlights in a single visit (it all depends on when you make the trip), every excursion promises its own memorable moments. 🌊 Connect with our Reservations Team to plan a trip during your stay: https://lnkd.in/gFtX49Fc

We offer many ways to explore and get to know Fogo Island. On land, follow ancient footpaths into the still-wild world. On the sea, get up close with passing whales and puffins, or try your hand at the traditional method of handlining cod. From the air, discover more of Newfoundland's history, culture, and dramatic landscapes. Our guided helicopter excursions give the bird's eye view of rocky coastlines, glacier-carved fjords, and untouched forests. Spend the day exploring nearby Change Islands or Twillingate, fishing along the Gander River, hiking Gros Morne Mountain, or arranging a tee time at the Gander Golf Club. 📸 Courtesy of Stan Cook, Rock + Water

The Inn was built with deep reverence for the environment, using the most sustainable materials and responsible practices, every step of the way—even when it meant doing things the hard way. A non-destructive low-impact foundation reduced concrete needs; the site was chosen and access paths were designed in a way that could preserve an ancient footpath; and to lessen the impact on the land during construction, we collected the mosses, grasses, and other plants on the building site, returning them when the construction was complete.

On June 2, CBS 60 Minutes is re-airing their segment on Fogo Island, “An Island off an Island.” “We start with a different question: what are we optimizing for? We are optimizing for place.” - Zita Cobb, Founder & CEO of Shorefast, and Innkeeper of Fogo Island Inn. Tune in Sunday evening at 9:30PM NST (8PM ET) to hear our community members share their stories about the past, present, and future of Fogo Island. 📸 Paddy Barry
