DescriptionCoat of arms of Denis Brennan.svg |
English: Coat of arms of the Bishop Denis Brennan, Bishop of Ferns.
The shield is divided per chevron gold and black. The gold field is sown with crosses in purple, both colours being traditional to Co Wexford. The crosses reflect the sowing of seeds of the gospel, a reference to the House of Missions. The inverted V is a reference to the Blackstairs Mountains and the gold torch refers to the Hook Lighthouse. “Rejoice and be Glad” the motto chosen by Bishop Brennan, is taken from Psalm 118 Reference: Español: Escudo de armas del obispo Denis Brennan, obispo de Ferns. |
