Description
English: Gibraltar Bay Unit of Detroit River International Wildlife Refuge. This field was a Nike anti-aircraft missile site during the Cold War. The site had 30 Nike Ajax missiles, 12 launchers, and two radar towers between 1955 and 1963. In 1998 it was cleaned up and seeded with native grasses and wildflowers.[1]
