::Nothing to edit that I see, as the smell of promotion is there even if unintentional. You still have not provided a complete rationale for the replacement of the flag, and "higher res" that also changes colors doesn't seem to be convincing enough. At any rate, if you're going to make such a change of a longstanding image, including effectively changing its colors, there needs to be a wider community discussion. Also consider the idea that this change probably isn't necessary and perhaps your time could be better used doing something else here in the Wikipedia.
