Other prominent news events covered by the newspaper include the [[Woodstock '94]] music festival and the marijuana arrests (in 2004 and 2005) of singer [[Art Garfunkel]].
The Freeman is a unionized newspaper. Employees are represented by The [[Kingston Newspaper Guild]]. The paper is owned by the [[Journal Register Company]] of Yardley, Pa.
