Cheriyoor is a village situates on the banks of Kuppam River in Taliparamba in the Indian state of Kerala. Cheriyoor village belongs to Pariyaram Panchayath (Ward No. 4) in Kannur district. The neighboring villages are Panangattoor (south), Thiruvattoor (west), Poovam/Mavicheri (east) and Kooveri (north). Cheriyoor is the ancestral home of famous Malayalam-language poet and translator Kerala Varma Valiya Koil Thampuran (February 19, 1845 – 1914).
