DescriptionEntrepot dok Kadijksplein Amsterdam.jpg
English: The Entrepot Dock was completed in 1830 as a warehouse to store goods "entrepot", or tax-free in transit. The former warehouse buildings have since been converted to housing. The Neoclassic gate building still says "Entrepot Dok" and the cast iron drawbridge (Brug 80) was built over the Nieuwe Herengracht in 1906 by the Nederlandsche Fabriek van Werktuigen en Spoorwegmateriaal Amsterdam (later in 1929 the name was changed to Werkspoor N.V.). The electrical unit dates from 1911. It still functions for traffic over water and over land.
