Love Island Games pages

[edit]

Can you restore/history merge/whatever else is needed the mess of Love Island Games, Love Island Games, Love Island Games Season 1, List of Love Island Games episodes? These should all be in one article as there currently is just one season. Gonnym (talk) 15:11, 18 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Huh. Only had time for a quick look but that's... interesting. Will see what I can do. Primefac (talk) 10:17, 19 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, so I think I see what's going on: the season 1 page got moved to Love Island Games Season 1, with the "show" information copied back to Love Island Games. I think List of Love Island Games episodes was meant to split off specific episode information from the Season 1 page. I do agree; with all of the copying and no season 2 it doesn't make sense to start splitting things. I would encourage 庄育航 to ask for help when Season 2 is a bit closer to being aired, so that creating and moving all of these pages can be done properly and with fewer errors. apologize accepted

[edit]

Sorry for being rude about it but it just froze my user page and it took me two hours to fix it. thanks for your concern about over sharing though I do relise that I over did that now and I'm sure that you were just trying to protect me. I like your usere name by the way. Jaymie Campbell (talk) 19:51, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No worries, and thanks :-) Primefac (talk) 20:11, 21 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Retraction

[edit]

You have asked me to retract this.

Can I just delete the whole paragraph? It will still stay in the article history though?

Sorry for the silly questions I have little experience with retractions. —-Maximilian Janisch (talk) 13:27, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Also User:fanny.doutaz has said that they do not demand a retraction, should I retract nonetheless? --Maximilian Janisch (talk) 14:03, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
They have said it is fine to leave, so it is fine to leave. Primefac (talk) 16:03, 24 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Bot approval

[edit]

Sorry for my insistence, I had pinged you at Wikipedia:Bots/Requests for approval/Platybot 2 but you probably overlooked it :) The bot works as intended. Can it be approved? ~ IvanScrooge98 (talk) 09:17, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I saw it, noted it, and will look at it when I have time and interest. Please be patient. Primefac (talk) 11:21, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Well I’m sorry but it really takes 5 minutes. Meanwhile transcriptions keep linking to a key they don’t match. All it takes is to start the bot. ~ IvanScrooge98 (talk) 13:26, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Feel free to apply for BAG membership or ask for mine to be revoked if you think that waiting a day or two is unacceptable. Primefac (talk) 13:28, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
That was not the point. ~ IvanScrooge98 (talk) 13:31, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Sure sounded like it. BRFA is not generally high on my priority list, and to be completely honest it's dropping further down the more you harangue me about not getting to it.
I will also note that the task is still listed as being in trial. Primefac (talk) 13:52, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
It is still in trial because there was no response after the test phase. And again, I’m sorry if I came off as insistent, but I wouldn’t have “harangued” had I received a reply instead of being ignored—and then only to be told, basically, “I will do it when I feel like it”. Have a good one. ~ IvanScrooge98 (talk) 14:08, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
If the trial is complete, then it should be tagged with {{BotTrialComplete}}. Primefac (talk) 14:09, 25 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Review for articles for creation

[edit]

Hi, could you review my request at WikiProject Articles for creation. Many thanks. :) Azarctic (talk) 12:27, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I will review your request, yes. You only posted 12 hours ago, please be patient. Primefac (talk) 12:36, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I apologise, no pressure. Azarctic (talk) 15:09, 26 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Primefac, when you get moment can you please take a look at this and correct it? User:JohnJurko created Anton Mzimba on their User page then moved it to mainspace, which happens sometimes. I removed the redirect target from their User page but they also moved their User talk page as well so Talk:Anton Mzimba has their talk page messages/history and right now their User talk page redirects to Talk:Anton Mzimba. I was going to try to correct it myself but then wasn't sure the best way to handle it. S0091 (talk) 15:34, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, thank you for your this. I’m a bit new to the platform and I’ve been trying to figure out how to remedy this. I believe this has happened to a couple of the pages I’ve created. Any help fixing/pointing me to where I could learn how to fix would be amazing! Thank you! 2600:1700:8DF5:9230:A8C7:5E95:42A2:74CA (talk) 16:59, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I believe I figured it out and fixed all of the issues. Thank you both! JohnJurko (talk) 22:30, 28 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I'll take a look at your other pages and see if anything else needs cleanup. Primefac (talk) 10:21, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks S0091, user talk should be sorted now. Primefac (talk) 10:21, 29 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks! S0091 (talk) 15:17, 30 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

How did you recreate the page

[edit]

Just curious, how did you recreate the RichardHornsby sockpuppet investigation previously known as Tsetstransport. Xtools edit count does not show it as a deleted edit. 182.239.240.50 (talk) 00:40, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

No idea what you mean, I haven't deleted or restored any SPI pages in years. Primefac (talk) 11:23, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I think what he meant was [3] where you created a page on a page that has already been created without deleting it first. 60.227.138.38 (talk) 05:46, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
xtools doesn't always show all types of deletions, nor do log entries. Primefac (talk) 11:32, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
What type of deletion is this? How do I do this on my own MediaWiki wiki. Is the log entry of the deletion only visible to administrators. 60.227.138.38 (talk) 19:46, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

wikidata

[edit]

Hi. where is the page of wikidata's Administrators' noticeboard's website's link ... so i can ask directly from it's admins? Hulu2024 (talk) 19:26, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not 100% sure, but it looks like Wikidata:Project chat would be the place to go. Primefac (talk) 19:32, 1 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Bot

[edit]

Hi Primefac, HBC AIV Helperbot 14 has been down for the past 5 hours, and Mdann52 is also offline right now. I'm thinking of running my bot as a backup until HBC AIV Helperbot 14 is back up. Do I need to submit a new BRFA for this, or can I just use the bot since the task is already approved? I'll be using the same bot script. – DreamRimmer (talk) 11:53, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

You would need to run a new BRFA. Is a 5-hour down time really that bad? If so, it might be worth having more than one person with access to the bot for redundancy purposes. Primefac (talk) 11:58, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
A 5-hour downtime isn't too bad, but this bot assists with AIV and UAA pages, and folks need to manually remove actioned reports. I thought I could help until Mdann52 restarts the bot. Let's wait a few more hours for Mdann52 to come online. – DreamRimmer (talk) 12:14, 2 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Are you aware of any bots that could help with merging duplicate references? I'm not too sure if AWB can do this. Panini! 🥪 12:37, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]

AWB will merge duplicate references if they are identical. I do not recall any bots that do this task, though. Primefac (talk) 14:22, 3 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Gotcha, thanks! Panini! 🥪 12:12, 4 September 2024 (UTC)[reply]
