Changing the defining sentence to only 'mass murder' trivializes the numerous other atrocities committed, which I won't name. Removing Elie Wiesel's quotation, which is directly relevant, well cited, and from one of the seminal authors and first-person accounts of the Holocaust, seems bizarre to me. If we don't use 'tragedy' and 'atrocious', we don't use this. 2; this quote is peculiar. It is not a common practice to include a paragraph comprising mostly a quote, and to open such a paragraph with the emotive phrase "In the words of...".
