Hill River Township is a township in Polk County, Minnesota, United States. It is part of the Grand Forks-ND-MN Metropolitan Statistical Area. The population was 162 at the 2000 census.

This township was named for the Hill River.[3]

According to the United States Census Bureau, the township has a total area of 36.3 square miles (94 km2), of which 34.9 square miles (90 km2) is land and 1.3 square miles (3.4 km2) (3.67%) is water.
