I based the changes off of the New France page, which uses the French flag itself, and the Russian/Chinese viceroyalties (the former are linked on the Spanish page). Of course, I was nevertheless suggesting a compromise, similar to what today are considered overseas territories, e.g. French Guiana, or perhaps consistency with other territories' pages, such as the African territories of Spanish Sahara or Spanish Guinea. Compromise isn't the appropriate word now that I read my comment again. So, to explain myself better: perhaps it would also be appropriate to replace the country infobox with the subdivision infobox, or maintain consistency with other Spanish territories' pages' format.
