In October 2021 samklef came under significant scrutiny for remarks about [[Muhammadu Buhari]] and [[Northern Nigeria]]. On the [[social media]] platform Twitter, the artist expressed a strong opinion suggesting that the North, apart from [[suya]] — a popular regional dish of roasted beef — has produced nothing of positive consequence. The statement specifically targeted President Buhari, asserting, "Buhari will forever be a failure nothing good can come out from the north except suya." This declaration sparked divergent reactions among followers, with some endorsing the sentiment while others vehemently criticized him for painting an entire region with a broad stroke.
