Conté comes from the youth section of KAA Gent. His position is midfielder. He played his first games in Belgium in the youth division of AA Gent. He plays as a midfielder. His first game was in the 2009-2010-season. He played for the team of Ghent against KVC Westerlo as a substitute. Last season, Ibrahima was definitely part of the A-team.

His first half of a season, he played in the team of young promising players of the team. At the start of the 2009-2010-season, he was part of the A-team. On the 23. February, he made his debute in the A-team against [[K.V.C._Westerlo|KVC Westerlo]]. This was his only game during that season. Manager Michel Louwagie declared after the won cup of 2010 that Conté could be his next goldcrest, following [[Mbark_Boussoufa|Mbark Boussoufa]], [[Bryan_Ruiz|Bryan Ruiz]] and [[Yassine_El_Ghanassy|Yassine El Ghanassy]]. During the 2010-2011-season, he was once again part of the A-team. He made his first appearance in the seventh game of the season. Ibrahima Sory Conté (born June 3, 1981) is a Guinean football player.

He was part of the Guinean 2004 African Nations Cup team, who finished second in their group in the first round of competition, before losing in the quarter finals to Mali. He was released in August 2008 by Tours FC.[1]
