Larks on a String (Czech: Skřivánci na niti) is a 1990 Czech film directed by Jiří Menzel. It tells the stories of various characters considered 'bourgeois' by the Czech government in the 1950s, and have been forced to work in a junkyard for the purposes of 're-education'. The movie was filmed in 1969, but was banned by the Czech government. It saw release in 1990 after the fall of the Communist regime.
