Driver Friendly (previously Driver F) is an American rock band from Austin, Texas that formed in 2002.

History

The band formed in The Woodlands, Texas and relocated to Austin, Texas in 2004. When in Austin they started working with Producer/Engineer Jim Vollentine [1] who helped develop their unique mix of driving guitars and delayed horn. [2] In 2006 their song "Every Snowflake is Unique" received national radio play on Rock 300 a satellite radio station that is part of the Bowling Music Network[3]. Chase the White Whale (2008) garnered positive reviews from HM Magazine and got the band listed as one of Absolute Punk's Absolute 100 bands of 2008[4] but got mixed reviews from The Austin Chronicle[5] In 2008 the band toured nationally as part of the "We Mustache You to Come to Our Show Tour." After not releasing any new music for four years the band announced they would be releasing a new album in late 2011. [6] The album Bury a Dream is set to be released February 24, 2012.[7]

Kickstarter

The band used crowd funding website Kickstarter to finance their upcoming record Bury a Dream (2012). They raised $6,295 in thirty days.[8]

In December 2011 the band announced that they would be returning to Driver Friendly since the trademark had expired.[9] [10]
