This user account is a bot operated by Pintoch (talk). It is used to make repetitive automated or semi-automated edits that would be extremely tedious to do manually, in accordance with the bot policy. This bot does not yet have the approval of the community, or approval has been withdrawn or expired, and therefore shouldn't be making edits that appear to be unassisted except in the operator's or its own user and user talk space.
Administrators: if this bot is making edits that appear to be unassisted to pages not in the operator's or its own userspace, please block it.

Overview

This bot adds links to citation templates, providing alternative open access versions to references in Wikipedia articles. See the main page of the project for more information.

The bot is not running yet, but you can see what changes it would do if it could run here: https://tools.wmflabs.org/oabot/

Scope

The bot only edits in main space. It is compliant with the bot exclusion templates: to prevent OAbot from editing a particular page, you can use {{bots|deny=OAbot}} (for instance). There is no way to prevent OAbot from changing a particular template in a page.

The bot only edits cite templates (based on CS1), excluding {{cite web}}.

The bot does not make changes to citations where at least one parameter is know to link to a freely available full text (such as |arxiv= or |pmc=).
