Being half peloponnesian, she entered and won the Miss Peloponnese pageant in 2007. She represented Greece in the Model of the World pageant and placed as a 2nd runner-up. After the pageant Ria Antoniou was appointed by the Star Hellas Organization to represent Greece in Miss Earth 2008 on 9 November 2008, in Angeles City (Pampanga, Philippines). She posed many times for Playboy,[2][3] Esquire[4][5] and Nitro.[6][7] From 7 January to 17 March 2012, she appeared on the 8th edition[8] of Ballando con le Stelle, the Italian version of Dancing with the Stars: she was paired with Raimondo Todaro, winner of three different editions of the show (the 2nd, the 3rd and the 6th); they finished at the 3rd place.
