CyclingMikey, real name Mike van Erp, is a Dutch YouTuber who films and reports drivers in London for breaking traffic laws.[2]
Content
A regular location for his videos is a corner beside Regent's Park where CyclingMikey has filmed and stopped many drivers from passing by the wrong side of a traffic island in order to cut the corner.[3]
In November 2019, he filmed Guy Ritchie using a mobile phone while driving. Ritchie was subsequently prosecuted and banned from driving for six months.[4][5][6] In 2021, he filmed Chris Eubank driving through a red light, an offence Eubank was subsequently prosecuted for.[7][8] In April 2021, he filmed Frank Lampard using a mobile phone and holding a hot drink while driving.[9]
Personal life
Van Erp is a Dutch national but grew up in Zimbabwe. When he was 19, his father was killed while riding his motorbike by a drunk driver.[10] Van Erp moved to the UK in 1998 to pursue a career in IT. He is now a professional carer.[11]
