Titu Cusi (1529-1571) Titu Cusi was son of Manco Capac. He became the Inca of Vilcabamba in 1558 and ruled until his death in 1571. His close companion Friar Diego Ortiz was blamed with killing Titu by poisoning him. Titu Cusi made Tupac Amaru a priest and custodian of Manco Capac's body in Vilcabamba. Tupac Amaru became the Inca after Titu’s death in 1571.
