License tagging for File:Transformers-20090606-stills-devastator.jpg

Thanks for uploading File:Transformers-20090606-stills-devastator.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 04:06, 13 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

File:ROTF Mudflap promo.jpg

I tagged File:ROTF Mudflap promo.jpg with {{Non-free reduce}} because the image is too large. When an image is a non-free image, because of fair use requirements, the image at most can be 300px for one of its sides. For example, it can be 300px by 570px or 450px by 300px (hypothetical scenarios). You can edit the image size in an image-editing program and then re-upload the image to the same file path by clicking "Upload a new version of this file" near the bottom of the page. If you need further clarification let me know. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 05:09, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Do you have a program such as Photoshop, Microsoft Office Picture Manager, or even Paint (or something similar)? Open the image with one of the programs and there should be an option to reduce it in size. Sometimes it will give you the exact dimensions afterwards. Or you can right click on the image (if saved on the desktop), and view the image in whatever Internet browser you are using to see its new size. Let me know if you encounter any problems. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 21:26, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Good work. It could be smaller (again, shoot for 300px for just one of the sides) but this is good enough. I deleted the initial size and removed the tag. If you have uploaded any other images with large dimensions do the same thing. You can either let me know when you have re-uploaded them or add the {{non-free reduced}} to the top and somebody else will do it. If you ever have any questions on anything else, let me know and I'll do my best to help you out. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 22:18, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
If you only have Paint, then if you go to the Image heading and click on "Resize/Skew" there is an option to adjust the size of the image. For horizontal and vertical use the same percentage to ensure the image isn't distorted. First download the image you want to upload and then make a copy of it (in case you make a mistake). Using the copy, try first reducing an image by say, 75% or 50%. If you think that is near the correct size, save it and then open it in a browser. Again, if you think it looks like the right size, upload it. If it's still too big, then repeat the same steps in Paint until it's the right size. I always use Microsoft Office Picture Manager since it lets you know the dimensions as you resize it. If you're running a PC, you may have it, if not, you can probably download it somewhere. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 00:50, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Only administrators can delete content, so you can always ask me (or any other administrator) to help you with image revision deletions. Whenever you tag an image with the non-free reduced template some administrator will get to it eventually. I deleted the larger size for this image. For future reference, to link to an image add a colon (:) before the image's name and it will provide a link. For example: File:Optimuys Prime ROTF.jpg. --Happy editing! Done. No worries about bothering me, I'm here to help. Working with images took me a while to get a grasp of here, so it's always great to help new users so they in turn can help others down the line. My talk page (don't have a door) is always open. --Happy editing! Nehrams2020 (talkcontrib) 01:26, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Re:Optimus Prime

It's not really a matter of "taking out one"- every image in there has to be entirely justified, and entirely necessary for the understanding of the article. I'm not seeing why each one is- for instance, what's File:Optimusprime-rid.jpg adding that the text doesn't? What's File:Optimusprime-transtech.jpg doing in the article, when that incarnation is hardly discussed? J Milburn (talk) 20:18, 14 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please stop adding these excessive images to articles. It draws the attention of wikipeida image police and they may put their foot down and say that only one image per page is justified, and we'll loose everything. Mathewignash (talk) 11:56, 15 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Optimus-prime.jpg)

Thanks for uploading File:Optimus-prime.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BJBot (talk) 06:02, 16 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]
