Federal Territories is a special political division of the territory of Venezuela providing for their existence in Article 16 of the National Constitution of 1999, administration is in charge of national government according to law. Currently there are no Federal Territories in the country because there were totaled in State within the Venezuelan Federation.
Creation

History

In 1998, Vargas during the government of Rafael Caldera was elevated to the category of "Federal Territory" for a short period of time before their condition Municipality Vargas belonging that Federal District was finally elevated to the rank of State in the year 1999.[2]
In 2011 the government of island territory Francisco de Miranda was established whose capital is the archipelago of Los Roques and comprises the islands Las Aves, Los Roques and Orchila, north of Venezuela.[3]
