A network of libraries in Western Switzerland known by the acronym RERO (for "Réseau Romand").

Founded over 25 years ago by several major libraries in Western Switzerland, RERO now includes most of the cantonal, academic, public, and specialized libraries in Switzerland. RERO manages a union catalog of 220 libraries serving 50,000 students from French-speaking Swiss universities (the universities of Fribourg, Geneva, Lausanne and Neuchâtel), the University of Applied Sciences and Arts of Western Switzerland and teacher training colleges (Vaud, Valais, Fribourg and BEJUNE)..

The RERO union catalog provides access to some 5.3 million bibliographic descriptions for more than 10 million documents. The catalog also describes 222,400 periodicals including 3,169 electronic journals.

In addition to the union catalog RERO supports an interlibrary loan system (ILL RERO), its own indexing system (RERO Vocabulary, which replaced the RAMEAU vocabulary in 2012), a digital library based on the principle of free access (RERO DOC), and a federated search system.
