Now and "Them" is the fourth studio album by the Northern Irish band Them. It is their second album without previous lead singer Van Morrison and was released shortly after their stint as the Belfast Gypsies, whom issued Them Belfast Gypsies before changing name back to Them.[2] As with their previous album, it was a commercial failure. In heavy contrast to the group's first albums, The Angry Young Them and Them Again, which focused heavily on rhythm and blues and garage rock, Now and "Them" was composed of primarily psychedelic and hard rock songs.[3]

The title is an allusion of the phrase "Now and Then", a theme which would be replicated on Time Out! Time in for Them.

Content

The album is built upon covers, such as a psychedelic rendition of What's The Matter Baby, which had previously been recorded by both Timi Yuro and the Small Faces. Witch Doctor, written by John Mayall, was originally titled "I'm Your Witchdoctor" and opens the album. "I Happen To Love You" is a cover of the Electric Prunes. "You're Just What I Was Looking For Today" would later be covered by Status Quo. Both tracks were penned by Gerry Goffin and Carole King, the latter would go on to big success during the 1970s.

Only three tracks are original composition, and all are credited to the entire band. "Square Room" is the most notable of these compositions, clocking in at almost 10 minutes.
