Family by Choice (Korean: 조립식 가족) is an upcoming South Korean television series based on Chinese drama Go Ahead, starring Hwang In-youp, Jung Chae-yeon, Bae Hyun-sung and Seo Ji-hye. It is scheduled to premiere on JTBC in fall of 2024.
Synopsis
[edit]Family by Choice tells the story of two men and a woman who are not related by blood but who spent their teenage years together as family, meeting again after 10 years.

- The father of Yoon Joo-won. He runs a kalguksu restaurant in the neighborhood and senses the children's moods like a ghost without them saying anything.
- Choi Moo-sung as Kim Dae-wook[7]
- The father of Kim San-ha. He is a police station officer with an inflexible, sincere, and gentle personality.
Production and release

[edit]The series was written by Hong Si-young, directed by Kim Seung-ho, and produced by Hi-Zium Studio, Base Story, and SLL.[8] It is based on the popular Chinese drama Go Ahead.[9]
Filming
[edit]The production team of Family by Choice, which finished all filming and entered post-production on July 14, 2024.[10]
Casting
[edit]On December 13, 2023, JTBC announced that Hwang In-youp, Jung Chae-yeon, and Bae Hyun-sung have confirmed their appearances for the series.[8]
Release
[edit]Family by Choice is scheduled to premiere on JTBC in fall of 2024.[10]
