The Littlewood Treaty, also known as the Littlewood Document, is claimed to be a translation of the Māori language version of the Treaty of Waitangi into English. It was found in the early 1990s.[1] It has also been claimed that it is the final English draft of the Treaty.[2] and the date of 4 February 1840 would appear to support this claim. Also, the Littlewood treaty document has been claimed to be written in the handwriting of James Busby. James Busby helped draft the Treaty of Waitangi with William Hobson, lending credibility to the claim of it being the final English version before being translated into Māori.
