Wikivoyage:Script nominations

Requests for the bot flag should be made on this page. This wiki uses the standard bot policy, and allows global bots and automatic approval of certain types of bots. Other bots should apply below. |
According to the Wikivoyage script policy, scripts have to be approved by the Wikivoyage administrators. To create a script that runs against Wikivoyage, post the name and reason for the script beneath the line below.
Explain why we need the script, why it can't be done by hand, and what the script will do. If 2 administrators voice their support for the script and there are no unresolved objections, the script can be run with a bot flag. If objections arise later, the bot flag can be undone.
Scripts that have passed through this process can be found in Project:script nominations/Archive. The user page for any approved bot should include {{bot}} to indicate the wiki user responsible for operating the bot; a list of all active bots will then appear in Category:Wikivoyage bots.
NOTE: you must apply for approval on each language version of Wikivoyage. Approval on this page only allows you to run a bot on Wikivoyage in English.

As above, for this wiki. Keep in mind that I don't expect the bot to run on this wiki all that much (maybe once per year?); however, the rules ask for explicit authorisation before I can run the bot at all, no matter how rarely. Leaderboard (talk) 05:41, 24 August 2024 (UTC)

- If I understand correctly, this would automatically remind people who've been inactive that their user rights to be admins, etc. will soon be revoked? Ikan Kekek (talk) 06:23, 24 August 2024 (UTC)

- @SHB2000: Every right other than the exclusion list on meta:Global reminder bot/global (i.e, flooder and confirmed for now). So it does impact rights such as patroller (should you give temp access to someone in the future). Leaderboard (talk) 07:51, 24 August 2024 (UTC)
