From Proto-Sino-Tibetan *s-wa-ŋ (to go; to come). Cognate with Burmese ဝင် (wang, to come in; to enter), Tibetan འོང ('ong, to come), ཡོང (yong, to come). Related to (OC *ɢʷa, “to go”).
