յ lowercase (uppercase Յ)

  1. The 21st letter of Armenian alphabet, called հի (hi). Transliterated as y.
    Represents:
    palatal approximant: [j] in Eastern Armenian and Western Armenian (but [h] word-initially and silent word-finally in Traditional Armenian orthography)
