My husband and I have very little time for DIY and didn’t want to scour the web for inexpensive pallets, nor did we want to spend a ton on wood since it is expensive these days.  Instead, I purchase two garden potting benches for $100 each and I moved the lower shelf up when assembling and then did the excess leg into the ground which made them both extra sturdy and kid-height.  I drilled holes in the bottom of Dollar Tree bins and zip tied them to the back of the garden benches so the kids can store things that are smaller like pine cones, utensils, and little bowls.
