In October, the HFPA announced that it will proceed with its annual awards presentation without NBC involvement, scheduling its 2022 ceremony for the same weekend as the Critics Choice Awards—a slot that HFPA president Helen Hoehne told EW in a statement "was always the intended date" regardless of other ceremonies. The Critics Choice Awards were later postponed due to COVID concerns, and the Globes held a non-televised, non-streamed ceremony, and instead announced winners via a three-hour series of tweets. *Governors Awards: The Academy released a statement indicating the Governors Awards will not be held in person on the originally announced date, and that updated plans would be announced in the weeks ahead.
