Pre-Season Outlook
Watson is the latest multi-purpose running back out of Memphis, following in the footsteps of Tony Pollard, Antonio Gibson, Darrell Henderson and others. A converted wide receiver, Watson runs with more authority than that profile would suggest and is a willing blocker, but he went undrafted in 2024 due to a perceived lack of size or speed. He joins a Broncos backfield that is already looking to find room for fifth-round pick Audric Estime alongside Javonte Williams, Jaleel McLaughlin and Samaje Perine, giving Watson a tough path just to earn a roster spot.

Lands on NFI list
The Broncos placed Watson on the active/non-football injury list Wednesday with an undisclosed injury, Aaron Wilson of KPRC 2 Houston reports.
Analysis: Watson appears to have sustained his injury away from Denver's practice facilities. The undrafted rookie out of Memphis will be eligible to return to practice at any point throughout training camp or the preseason, once cleared, but any amount of time missed will negatively impact his chances of earning a depth role in the Broncos backfield.
