On July 25, 2024, the Province of British Columbia announced additional temporary supports for B.C. wineries to support production of the 2024 vintage. These supports enable all B.C. wineries to produce a 2024 vintage using imported wine grapes, juice, and unfinished wines to supplement a short domestic wine grape crop.

Union workers at Canadian National (CN) Railway and Canadian Pacific Kansas City (CPKC) returned to work August 23 and August 26, respectively, ending Canada's first ever strike involving both major rail lines, which began on August 22.

In 2025, high domestic meat demand and lower prices of animal feed for both cattle and swine are expected to drive up overall cattle, beef, pig crop, and pork production. Despite relatively high inflation levels for food products, beef consumption is expected to grow as consumers shift purchases to more affordable meat cuts.

Private exporters reported the following sales activity for MY 2024/2025: 132,000 MT of soybeans for delivery to China and 100,000 MT of soybean cake and meal for delivery to Colombia.

Private exporters reported to the following sales activity for MY 2024/2025: 264,000 MT of soybeans for delivery to China, 100,000 MT of corn for delivery to Colombia, and 165,735 MT of corn for delivery to Mexico.

Private exporters reported sales of 127,760 MT of corn for delivery to Mexico during MY 2024/2025.
