I CANNOT STOP BUYING THESE CAKES! I love how they're portable and a good portion to just chow down on.

So far my top favorites are mango and peach. Chocolate was probably my least favorite just because the texture isn't as airy, it's pretty dense and sweet compared to the other boxed cakes.

They don't have a physical location right now so for me it was Milpitas ZERO&. And you'll also find them in SF's Outset Coffee.

I can't wait to order their full size cake for literally any upcoming occasion!

Wow these cakes are so goood! You need to pick up at a boba place, but these were much more delicious than I expected.

My favorite flavor was the Ube one. All of them weren't too sweet, but were very satisfying. To top it off, they were all decorated and packaged cutely. These are the perfect sized cakes so that you won't feel overwhelmed, but can still serve like 2-4 people depending how much cake you'd like.

Wow! These tiny cakes are so pretty and so good. I picked up a couple for a family birthday from Zero& at the Great Mall. Unfortunately, it was not ready on the day/time I had scheduled for pick-up. I ended up having to come back the next day to pick up my cakes. That was a little disappointing.

I ordered a variety, including mango, taro, lychee, and peach. They were the perfect Asian dessert... not too sweet but very satisfying. They were packaged and decorated perfectly. I ordered 4 cakes for 8 people so we were all able to get a taste of everything.

My friend shared a Tik Tok of this place and told me to try it. For the Bay Area, I don't believe they have any physical stores currently but ordering on enjoyhanabi.com was pretty easy. They seem to have partnered up with a boba shop Zero& which you can pick up from in various locations around the Bay. For me, the location was inside the Great Mall.

      What I ordered:
1.) Peach Blossom Mini Box Cake
2.) Rose Lychee Dream Mini Box Cake - Gluten Free

      [[ Pickup Notes ]]
The time for pickup was from 3pm to 6pm for me so I chose the earliest spot at 3pm so I can enjoy it earlier. I got there around 2:30pm and Zero& let me pickup early which is great! I also noticed that Hanabi actually has a display case full of their cakes at the location as well so if you don't want to pre-order beforehand, you can just buy it straight from the store without reservation.

      [[ Cake Notes ]]
      - The flavors were really cool and overall the taste was good.
      - I would say a mini-box is just enough for 1 person to finish. As such, I would recommend 1 Mini Box per person.

      So why the 3 stars?

Overall I think Hanabi products are pretty good quality. The website, service, and the presentation of each of the cakes were all pretty stellar and I would easily give this part 5/5.

However, the cake itself I did not find extra special besides the unique flavors of Rose Lychee / Peach. Although it was tasty, it felt pretty basic with just a couple layers of cake with whip cream and the chosen jelly flavoring (see pics attached). I kept waiting for some "Ah-Ha" moment or "Wow" moment but it never came. At one point, I think since the flavors were so similar, both cakes started to taste the same.

I'll need to try this again. Looking forward to the physical store re-opening for convenience so I can try other products to see if my tastes will change.

Ordered a lunar new year cake courtesy of Zero& at Stoneridge! Really nice that they are working together on this.

The lunar cake is strawberry and red velvet and it was really good! I have a sweet tooth so sometimes I tend to like it sweeter but that's just me :)

      Highly recommend!

Hanabi Bakery and Zero& opened in the vacated Malaikottai space. ordering is at a kiosk at left of counter. menu posted in back of kiosk doesn't show all offerings. kiosk isn't easy to navigate. counterperson helped me order.

offerings: fruit drinks, milk tea/latte, pure tea, croissants, mini cakes.....

      drink: matcha tornado (6.45)
-has oreo bits, cane sugar, creme/milk, matcha.
-sweet tastes from oreo bits, cane sugar, milk & matcha added texture, no tastes.
-drink looks fab, disappointing one dimensional sips.

eats: matcha jasmine mini box (8.99)
-yummy looking hand crafted mini dessert, tastes too subtle to satisfy tastebuds.
-"uji matcha chiffon cakes, jasmine green tea whipping ganache, uji matcha chantilly chiffon, white chocolate crunchy pearls".
-the visuals are vibrant, the tastes were numbingly faintly sweet & delicate.
3.5 stars . lotsa hype with no follow through on preceived valuation & artisanship..

      take outs
-just a few tables outside. lots of parking nearby.
-Hanabi Bakery and Zero& are owned by same U.S. corporation,
-offerings were created in "food labs". owners have work experience in many U.S. companies doing product development.
-posted menus incomplete, shouldn't be behind kiosk. creates a "crowd" if many people commingle at the same time to order/peruse menu.

Though the biz listing states they are physically closed, this company is selling selected products on Neon. It started with their drinks, a variety of fruity and intriguing tea flavors that caught my friend's eyes. She ordered several to start and you know what happened next. Yes, she reordered and I joined her.

Seeing how my friend enjoyed their drinks, I tested the waters by ordering the Peach oolong Go (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=df5p98QXD5lZlTrslQxMqw&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q); I liked that there was zero sugar added but I believe that there is some from the peach flavoring. This drink did not make be feel guilty as it was not overly sweet but the drawback is that the fruit flavor wasn't too prominent. My friend gifted me a Coco Mango Jasmine (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=cQuT3Uf_1ct5SbM5bgJjZA&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q) which I enjoyed immensely. The coconut flavor and mango chunks made this a lot more interesting than what I chose. I would order this again. Several weeks later, I decided to try their pastry sections and started with the Croque Monsieur (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=sSSR9-fLUO0YxkQgY6V6Cg&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q); being used to the one at the Guerrero and 18th St. bakery known for this, I was surprised as this reminded me more of a ham and cheese croissant. I guess the difference is that this had a creamy filling. I am fifty-fifty on whether I'd have this again. Finally, I ordered the sesame almond croissant (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=KMeCL0ChXvGvqfnmyLGOCg&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q). My mind was probably in another place when ordering this as I was pleasantly surprised with this though the almond ingredient is barely noticed. The star is the black sesame paste filling (https://www.yelp.com/user_local_photos?select=PRsh_tGntIrlXKvly5Cozg&userid=saJuyv784apZzH--psHZ3Q), a wet version that didn't make the pastry soggy. The flavors were good but just wished that there was a little more filling.

Thank you, Hanabi, for giving me the opportunity to try a good variety of your creations. I will keep my eyes open for other items that tempt me.

I ordered online for pickup at Orange Square, which is great since the actual store is pretty far from me. However, quite a few desserts were sold out, so I would like to see how often they get "stocked" or how available they are if you walk in.

We got the Strawberry Velvet Mini Box and Matcha Jasmine Mini Box. Pickup was nice and quick. They provide a small card in the bag explaining how quickly you should eat them and how to store them. There was a small empty section, which they might write something for you if you request it or you can write it yourself.

We ate the strawberry velvet right after picking it up, and put the matcha jasmine in the fridge for later. The cakes are a decent size, about 1.5 the size of a normal cake slice. The velvet cake was nice and soft, and the cream was very light and not too sweet, like whipped cream. I didn't really taste the cream cheese flavor, but I could taste the subtle strawberry from the strawberry cream and noticed the thin layer of strawberry jam. It was a nice, fruity, light cake - great for those who prefer less sweet, Asian-style cakes. It didn't really taste like your typical red velvet cake, and more like a strawberry cream cake.

We ate the matcha jasmine the day after, and it was still really good even though it was technically after the time they said to eat it by (24 hours). The cream was creamier than the last cake, and the cake was also as light and fluffy. It was a little sweeter than the last one. I think the matcha and jasmine paired so well together, more than I expected, and they really brought out the floral and earthy flavors from each other. I think I liked this one more, though I would probably have more trouble finishing this one, given how creamy and rich it is.

My only complaint is that they should make the boxes easier to open - my boyfriend ruined one of them before I could take the picture. However, I would definitely come back and try some more of their cakes and pastries, and I would absolutely recommend their matcha jasmine cake!

Second time to try their bakery, and we choose mini cake this time .
We picked the most colorful one as
-rose lychee : cake with two lychee , and home made jelly covered with rose . The cake in full of lychee flavor , great in presentation and I love it
      - Passion chocolate : Among of four I love this one the most . The passion fruit well balance with the dark chocolate at the bottom.
      - Sesame : nothing special , felt like chinese dessert .
-Matcha Jasmine : It taste good but it was not as good as the others

If you wanna to get a cake for Instagram , this would be the good choice . However , if you are looking for high standard bakery , you may be disappointed or even over priced . each of the mini cake was kind of mini small but it cost almost $10 each .

This Hanabi location newly opened last weekend. It offers high-end cakes and pastries from Hanabi and drinks from Zero&. They have a self order kiosk outside and 2 outdoor seating areas.

I ordered the pandan almond croissant ($5.95), rose lychee mini box ($9.99), and the baby peach drink (~$7.80). The pandan almond croissant was perfectly crisp (kind of reminds me of the crust on a pineapple bun) and the rose lychee mini box cake had a good balance of the two flavors and wasn't too sweet. The baby peach drink from Zero& was my favorite. It is an icy consistency and comes with sea salt foam. I find that other peach drinks from other places have an artificial peach flavor, but this tasted very fresh and not artificial.

Everything I ordered was super tasty, no complaints. But.... everything is very expensive. I would come back if I want to splurge on a fancy pastry or drink, but definitely not a go-to. I would recommend this to try at least once.
