This issue regarding the issue that is already closed but not fixed yet.
The problem and the question are still the same.

Can we reopen this issue #1283?

This is the equivalent cli command. It was not very well documented so I hope it helps somehow.

bq update --clustering_fields="" dataset_name.table_name
